ANOTHER PODIUM FINISH FOR SNORAS SPYKER SQUADRON

Although the team started this morning from ninth position on the fourteen car GT2 grid, both Jarek Janis and Tom Coronel fought their way to the front of the field to finish in a strong second place. It is the second time in a row that SNORAS Spyker Squadron finishes on the podium. In the previous round, the 1000 km of the Nurburgring, the team also finished in second place.

SNORAS Spyker Squadron driver Tom Coronel set the ninth quickest time for the fifth and last Le Mans Series round, the 1000 km of Silverstone. Dutchman Coronel was one of the first drivers to leave the pit lane. In sunny and mild conditions his times improved in each of the three hot laps he completed, but his time of 1:50.342 was unfortunately not translated into a front row starting position.

This weekend SNORAS Spyker Squadron will participate in their last Le Mans Series race this season; the 1000 km of Silverstone. Dutchman Tom Coronel and Czech Jarek Janis will again come in action in their blue and yellow Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R and hope to score another podium after their 2nd place finish at the Nurburgring just three weeks ago.

SNORAS Spyker Squadron took a brilliant second place in the 1000 km of the Nurburgring this afternoon. Despite starting from the back of the grid Spyker regular drivers Jarek Janis (CZE) and Tom Coronel (NLD) secured for the second time a podium place in the German Le Mans Series round.

Disappointing end in great LMS 1000 km of the Algarve

Dutchman Tom Coronel started today's 1000 km race from the back of the grid as a result of missing the qualification yesterday. The team took their time to replace an engine that failed in the third and last free practice session and therefore missed qualifying. Although the SNORAS Spyker Squadron drivers Tom Coronel and Jarek Janis did really well in the race, less than an hour before the finish they had to give up due to an engine failure whilst running in fourth position and only 55 seconds behind the Ferrari F430 running in third.

LMS 1000KM do Algarve - Qualifying results

SNORAS Spyker Squadron will start round three of the five-race Le Mans Series schedule this weekend from the back of the grid. After an engine failure in the third free practice session, the team did not have enough time to re-fit an engine in time for the 20 minute qualifying session for the 1000 km of the Algarve race that starts tomorrow at 19h15 (GMT).

After a strong performance at 24 Heures du Mans in June where the team finished fifth in class and ahead of all the Porsches, Spyker Squadron will compete in round three of the five-race Le Mans Series schedule this weekend. The 1000 km of Algarve bring the #85 Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R, driven by Dutchman Tom Coronel and Czech Jarek Janis to Portimao, Portugal.

The Spyker managed to stay out of trouble and made it trough the night. The team had its share of smaller problems such as tire pick-up, flat spots and worn out front brake discs and pads but all were quickly fixed.

Le Mans, 14 June - SNORAS Spyker Squadron finished in fifth place in the 77th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Yesterday at exactly 15:00 the Dutch team started from an eleventh position. The Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R was driven by Spyker regulars Jarek Janis (CZE) and Tom Coronel (NLD). For this occasion 2008 LMP2 class winner Jeroen Bleekemolen (NLD) joined the driver pair.

5 Hour LM24 update.

So far the race is trouble free for the Dutch SNORAS Spyker Squadron. At exactly 15:00 the 55 cars passed the starting line. The first stints in the the #85 Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R where for Dutchman Jeroen Bleekemolen. He was easy on the throttle and returned the car in P10.

Le Mans, 10 June - Last Friday the SNORAS Spyker Squadron exchanged their base in Holland for the 'Circuit de la Sarthe' just South of Le Mans, France, for their participation in the most grueling races of all; the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Dutch team has been invited by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) to enter one Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R in the 24 hour race. The car will be driven by Spyker Squadron Le Mans Series-regulars Tom Coronel and Jarek Janis. The pair will be accompanied by 2009 LMP2 winner Jeroen Bleekemolen.

After a disappointing start of the weekend, the team struggled to find the time to work towards a proper setup, the team claimed a hard fought fifth place in the Le Mans Series 1000 km of Spa-Francorchamps. Dutchman Tom Coronel was joined by Scotsman Peter Dumbreck. SNORAS Spyker Squadron regular Jarek Janis receives medications to recover from an inflammation of the jaw and was advised by his doctors not to drive this weekend.

SNORAS Spyker Squadron will start from a ninth position on the GT2 grid in tomorrow's Le Mans Series Spa-Francorchamps 1000 km race. A combination of the new limited free practice scheme, a collision with another GT2 car, yesterday's rain and a dozen red flag situation prevented the team to properly setup their C8 Laviolette GT2 racer for the 20 minute GT qualifying session this afternoon.

Only minutes after the race started at 11:30 this morning the Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R returned to the pitbox with a problem. After a solid start of the weekend were the team delivered promising results this was absolutely not what the team had hoped for.

SNORAS Spyker Squadron will start from a ninth place on the GT2 grid tomorrow. The Dutch team, with Jarek Janis and Tom Coronel behind the wheel, were unfortunately not able to continue their strong performance in this first race weekend of the season and qualified 1,5 seconds behind the GT2 pole sitter. Compared to yesterday and this morning the times of most teams were down, most likely due to the increase of the track temperature.
